Britavit’s B+B rooms and holiday cottage are situated in the Dordogne in South-West France, a magnificent region of fortified villages which boasts a heritage unparalleled elsewhere in France, other than perhaps Paris, and it is difficult not to be instantly beguiled by its calm and restful ambience. |

Britavit and the village of Saint Avit Senieur are situated in the heart of the “Périgord Noir”, equidistant from Sarlat and Bergerac. Having been renovated by local artisans as well as the owners, the house is magnificent and the garden constantly growing and evolving. Above all our aim is to offer guests a house in which they feel at home; a house which feels lived in and loved.
At Britavit we welcome guests attentively but discreetly. The ‘table d’hôtes’ meals are simple, light and enchanting.
Britavit makes the ideal base from which to spend a holiday whether your choice of activities is cultural, sporty, foody or you simply intend to relax.

Nearby Activities In high season events and festivals are organised around many activities and the area offers a huge variety of things to see and do:
Sightseeing : Prehistoric caves, standing stones, gardens, mills and two of France’s designated “Most Beautiful French Village” – Limeuil and Monpazier
Sports : Rambling, trekking. Trémolat Lake, Lalinde Leisure Centre, river fishing…
Other : Second-hand markets, evening markets, outdoor meals (“Bring your own Place Setting”: i.e. plate, glass, knife and fork…) |

WHAT WE OFFER
Bed and Breakfast:
Britavit’s south-facing bedrooms are on the first floor of the building. Each has its own bathroom with a large shower and separate WC and the rooms are all individually decorated. Each is furnished with a 80cm x 200cm double bed which can be made up as single beds on request.

Britou Holiday Cottage:
Britou holiday cottage is absolutely ideal for two people. Situated on the ground floor, to the east of the existing building, the cottage has been recently and tastefully renovated. Straw or clay coloured limewash on the walls, chestnut panelling, a surface area of 42m² and a sitting room which leads out onto a small private, south-facing garden (not fenced in). Small pets are welcome. The terrace is covered by a pergola and furnished with garden table, chairs and sun lounger; a stone barbecue in the garden awaits you as does the herb garden planted with parsley, oregano, thyme, mint… and, depending on the season, lettuces.
